ASLSearch.com strives to be the premier online source of American Sign Language. Our goal is to provide accessibility to a wonderful language that many deaf, hard-of-hearing and interpreters use. We encourage people from all walks of life to learn and use ASL!
American Sign Language (ASL) is a complex language that consists of hands and other movements such as facial expressions, postures, gestures and body language. It is a visual language that allows people to communicate in a way other than sounds. ASL is the primary language used by the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community in the United States and parts of Canada.
Based in Oregon, ASLSearch.com strives to be accurate as possible. However, ASL signs can represent many words and signs can also vary by regions. While our database is growing rapidly, we cannot include every sign used in every region of the United States. If you have a question or have feedback about different signs, please feel free to contact us using our contact form.
